Our tax busy-season is almost over. I have been working as slowly as possible on my final return today - because it's not even really due on Monday, but I do want everything to be over with by the end of Monday.
In the past week I've gone vacillated between firmly deciding to quit my job, to looking forward to next year, when I'll know so much more. Friday was stressful just from being tired, not from actual problems or deadlines. Friday evening ended in a long chat about code Section 163(j) and calculating E&P with a co-worker that made me feel fond of taxes again.
Suffice to say, stressful, sleep-deprived work weeks are not a good time to make career decisions anyway. For now, I'm back to looking forward to next tax season, and do more things right from the beginning.
